Electrical Engineer IV - Avionics (6336)
Tracking Code 6336 Designs, develops, and reviews electronic or electro-mechanical, electro-optical/Infrared, tactical communication products, components, or systems requiring the utilization of mechanical, electronic, electrical, optical, Infrared (IR) or physics principles and their application to specific assignments. Develop detailed electrical designs to integrate avionics, communications and weapons systems into aircraft. Coordinate prototype installation and support validation/verification of integrated components. Conduct requirements analysis, Preliminary Design Reviews (PDRs), Critical Design Reviews (CDRs), Tasks may include circuitry development, theoretical calculations, prototyping, packaging, determining reliability quality levels and/or performance, preparation of specifications, material and electronic tests, process studies, and research investigations as required. Develop and implement structured engineering solutions to meet program requirements across the whole development lifecycle in accordance with customer requirements, legislation, human factors, and business needs. Work in an IPT environment, working closely with other staff, such as systems, software, and project managers. Champion new ideas and processes to improve quality and efficiency and reduce cost. Prepares formal reports such as trade studies, test plans, test reports, and cost proposals. Participates in and may be responsible for material, component, and subcontractor selection. Participates in and may develop plans for hardware integration. Skills / Requirements
Microsoft Office desktop tools. Familiar with analysis tools and modeling software. Ability to read and interpret CAD based drawings. Good at problem-solving and thinking laterally as part of a team, or individually, to meet the needs of a project. Excellent written and oral communication skills, as well as interpersonal and presentation skills, leadership qualities, and the ability to work well with customers and development team members. Must be a U.S. citizen with the ability to obtain/maintain a government security clearance. Required Experience Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline required. Minimum 10 + years related experience required. Knowledge of tactical communication systems, networking between systems, electronic principles, circuitry, and test equipment. Experienced with allocated system and functional requirements, which includes full system communication, control, monitoring, and indication. Must have a good understanding of physical electrical interfaces, analog and digital interfaces, and communication systems requirements.
