The Director, GYN Oncology Program provides administrative, clerical and office management oversight to the Director of The Gynecologic Oncology Collaborative; seven (7) satellite Gynecologic Oncology programs and the flagship program at Mercy Medical Center. This position will work with the public in multiple capacities: drafting correspondence, manuscripts, marketing material, and financial reports for clinical providers members and staff; responsible for oversight/training/mentoring of staff clinical and administrative staff in exam room protocols, physician schedules, answering phones, medical records area, patient triaging, phone calls for severity/importance, assisting in the improvement of billing procedures and the collection of payments and collection of insurance information and verification of benefits. The Director shows exceptional initiative in independent problem solving situations with patients, physicians and others; assists physicians in preparation of materials for publication and presentation, including PowerPoint slides and must possess ability to prioritize work load for the most efficient performance.

Skills / Requirements
EDUCATION/WORK EXPERIENCE:

Must possess a Bachelor's degree; advanced degree (Nurse Practitioner) preferred. Must posses working knowledge of physician practice operations and understanding of basic grant related programs.&Knowledge of how to use the scheduling, registration and charge entry modules in the Mysis system preferred.&Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology at a level normally acquired through normal exposure within a medical office.&Development of spreadsheet design, maintenance and reporting using both a database and an excel file format.&Interpersonal skills to deal effectively with clients, visitors, employers, and hospital personnel in exchanging and relaying information and in providing client care.&Ability to work in a demanding and challenging environment. Supports the team effort through a willingness to work beyond normal working hours.&Able to work independently with frequent interruptions.&Follows written and oral instructions accurately, comprehends technical grant guidelines and/or manuals.&Knowledge of exam room supplies and use of office equipment.&Must have excellent telephone demeanor.&Must possess and promote excellent health, hygiene and grooming habits.&Ability to prioritize work load for the most efficient performance.&Must be able to greet patients, visitors and direct inquiries to appropriate individuals.&Properly operates computer devices and peripherals.&Maintains a welcoming and clean environment in the office waiting area.
