The Jr. Network Engineer is responsible for deploying, configuring and maintaining high-end switching, routing, IP Telephony, wireless, security, network management and access control devices supporting the Mercy Health Services infrastructure. The individual will coordinate activities amongst multiple groups to provide 99.999% uptime for the organization.

EDUCATION/WORK EXPERIENCE:

Must possess a high school diploma or GED. Must possess five (5) or more years of Network Troubleshooting, Management, Installation experience;&a minimum of two (2) years of Wireless LAN administration experience; and a minimum of two (2) years of Network Security administration experience. Must possess seven or more (7+) years of progressively responsible experience in implementing and supporting large scale WANs, LANs, Wireless, VoIP, SSL-VPNs, Cisco TAC-ACS+, CiscoWorks, IPSEC Must possess a minimum of two (2) out of the following six (6) Cisco Certifications: CCIE, CCNA, CCNP, CCDA, CCDP, CWNA.&Knowledge of Network Monitoring and Management tools such as HP Openview, Ciscoworks, SolarWinds etc. Must understand SNMP and RMON.&Knowledge of LAN Protocols, the OSI reference model, Cisco hardware platform and Juniper hardware platform. Experience in implementing and supporting networks and the various protocols associated with VoIP based on Cisco Technology.&Experience implementing and supporting IP,EIGRP, IGRP, BGP, IPsec, OSPF, RIP1/2, and understanding of Static routing. Advanced experience in designing and configuring all types of CISCO hardware and IOS.&Knowledge of additional network products from various manufacturers is a plus (Juniper, Airespace, etc).&Extensive experience with interior and exterior routing protocols with advance knowledge of BGP.&Experience with various technologies used to deliver highly redundant networks on all layers of the OSI Model.&Knowledge and experience managing LAN switching environments with VLANS, SpanningTree, VTP, Etherchannel, 10 gig Technology.&Knowledge and experience managing WAN environments with WAN protocols such as Frame Relay, HDLC, PPP, Multi-Link PPP, T1, DS3, MPLS, SONET(OCx).&Experience with network security platforms and technologies such as PIX, IPS/IDS, IDSM2 and FWSM. Skilled at documenting designs and policies associated with networks. Must possess a valid driver's license and transportation to travel to satellite locations.
