- Nature of Work
- This is skilled trades work in the construction, maintenance, and repair of overhead and underground electrical systems and equipment.
Work involves construction, maintenance, repair and extension of street lighting, traffic lights, and other lines and circuits for both high (12,470 volts) and low voltage electrical power distribution systems and communications systems. Assignments may be accompanied by sketches or blueprints, and work is ordinarily subject to review by supervisor. Supervision is received from a higher level trade's supervisor who may assist on unusually difficult or emergency work.
- Minimum Training and Experience
Graduation from high school with courses in electricity or related work.
Must hold a valid Electrical Journeyman license, AND three years of experience in line maintenance and construction; or any equivalent combination of training and experience.
- Other Necessary Qualifications
Possession of a valid State of Michigan driver's license.
Possession of a State of Michigan Journeyman Electrician license is required.
Possession of a valid CDL Class A Michigan driver's license with appropriate endorsements or the ability to obtain this license within 90 days of employment.
