Heavy Equipment Operator Leader

At the US Army Aberdeen Test Center (ATC) within Aberdeen Proving Ground,Maryland, Jacobs Technology employees, along with our teammate companies Caelum,SOI, eLe, and Trident ensure the weapons, vehicles, and equipment that the warfighter depends on are safe, effective and reliable.
Serves as workingleader to include the coordination of efforts necessary to accomplish allassigned construction and range maintenance tasks. Coordinate construction and range maintenancewith Government and contractor personnel. Ensures contractor personnel conduct preventive maintenance on assignedequipment on a daily basis. Ensures allapplicable safety regulations are adhered to during maintenanceoperations. Assigns work and providestechnical direction; helps in accomplishing difficult work procedures, observeswork in progress to anticipate and resolve problems. Inspects completed work frequently.
Must have 5 yr.applicable experience, 1 yr. of which as a Heavy Equipment Operator at ATC.
Must possess a ClassA CDL with HAZMAT and Tanker endorsements.
Must have 3 yr.experience leading/supervising.
UNUSUAL OR SPECIALPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS OF POSITION
Ability to operate,grease, make adjustments and emergency repairs to heavy equipment. Operatesvarious items of engineering and automotive equipment in construction andmaintenance of ranges, move and/or transport heavy, bulky and oversizedmaterial and equipment. Transports and dispenses fuel as required. The abilityto bend, stoop, squat, crawl, crouch, kneel, reach above shoulder level andclimb into or under a vehicle is required (up to 25%). Walking a minimum of 50yards over rough terrain is required (up to 25%). The ability to push and pullas well as lift and carry up to 50 pounds is required (up to 25%).
DESCRIPTION OF WORKENVIRONMENT
The ability to workin outside field conditions that include hot and cold extreme temperatures andother outdoor climatic conditions is required (up to 25%). Must be able to work in areas where onlyportable restroom facilities are available (up to 25%). Work environment may be fast-paced and requirework under pressure to meet deadlines associated with the completion of atask. Position will require multipletask efforts.
EQUIPMENT ANDMACHINES INVOLVED IN WORK TASKS
Operates engineeringequipment such as bulldozers (D-7's, D-8's, or other equivalent), front-endloaders, backhoes, motor graders to clear and grade areas, remove earth, slopebanks, dig ditches and level road beds in support of ATC test programs.Delivers test items across United States and Canada. Operates 10-ton tractorwith 20-ton trailer, which carries up to 5,000 gallons of gasoline and/ordiesel fuel to meet scheduled daily and weekly deliveries to locations both onand off post, such as Edgewood and Churchville. Performs operator preventivemaintenance and/or emergency repairs to equipment.
Attendance iscritical at all times during normal duty hours. Work outside of normal dutyhours, including weekends and holidays, may be required with as little asone-hour advance notice.
OTHER ESSENTIALFUNCTIONSMust be able to communicate effectively. Must be able to obtain aninterim secret security clearance in order to gain access to required areas,networks and systems within thirty (30) days of date of your offer letter. Must be able to obtain and retain a secretsecurity clearance. Must be able to provide proof of U.S. citizenship. Must be able to obtain and retain unescortedaccess to work areas. Must possess a valid Class A CDL with HAZMAT and Tankerendorsements. May be subject to other physicals or exams if required to wear arespirator or are designated by the COR to have other physicals due to the workarea in which you are assigned. May besubject to exposure to noise, vibration, oil, lubricants, fuels such asgasoline and diesel, dusts, ammo, and solvents. Must be able to wear personal protective equipment as required. Must have a valid driver's license andpersonal transportation for the purpose of moving around the proving ground toaccomplish job functions and in order to operate a rental vehicle if and whentravel is required. Must be able to obtain and maintain a military driver'slicense within 30 days of employment.
