What you'll be doing:

Duties and Responsibilities


  • Coordinate all on site accounting functions with Corporate Accounting
  • Act as a liaison between Accounting and all other departments
  • Train and coordinate activities of the accounting staff
  • Ensure the timely billing of all direct bill accounts with complete backup and accurate invoices
  • Ensure all guest disputes and requests for clarification are resolved and/or responded to within 24 hours of notice
  • Ensure an effective tracking system for all rebates
  • Maintain Hotel Checkbook
  • Prepare company reconciliation and solve disputes
  • Ensure daily balance of Daily Report's, a timely month-end and year-end close
  • Ensure that daily cash management functions are prepared properly
  • Responsible for all phases of Purchase Orders, Receivables, Collections and Accuracy of Billing
  • Maintain accuracy with all Banquets and Tax Excel sheets
  • Ensure all bank deposits are accurate
  • Input daily final figures from PMS into Accounting System
  • Input purchase orders into Accounting System
  • Make sure total from Delphi, PMS, and Accounting Systems balances
  • Process credit applications for direct billing and set up vendors for all departments
  • Process MD Sales and use Tax and County Occupancy Tax Monthly
  • Produce monthly P&Ls in a timely manner
  • Acknowledge all guests and respond promptly to their needs, however busy and whatever time of day. Ensure unresolved incidents are reported to Manager/Supervisor
  • Familiarity with all hotel services/features and local attractions/activities to respond to guest inquiries accurately
  • Contribute to the team's success by accomplishing tasks and assisting with projects as needed
  • Maintain knowledge and compliance with departmental policies, service procedures, and standards
  • Availability during peak operating times, ie: Weekends, Holidays and Special Events
  • Work as a team member to ensure our guests have the best possible experience
  • Understand company's emergency procedures and be able to apply them when necessary
  • Report any incidents, property damage or injuries immediately to Manager/Supervisor
  • Attend department meetings and training sessions as necessary
  • Other duties as assigned by Manager and/or Supervisor

  • Have a disaster recovery system in place and in use

  • 3 years demonstrated accounting experience, preferably in a hospitality or food and beverage environment
  • 2 years demonstrated supervisory experience
  • Strong accounting software experience
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required. Associates degree in relevant field preferred
